Former Angels, Dodgers pitcher Aaron Sele lists in Newport Beach

Former Major League pitcher Aaron Sele, now an assistant in player development and scouting with the Dodgers, has listed his home in Newport Beach for sale at $3.995 million.

Set at the end of a tree-lined cul-de-sac, the two-story Traditional sports an open floor plan clad in hardwood and marble flooring, French doors, delicate molding and built-ins. Features include a formal dining room with wood-burning fireplace, a chef’s kitchen and a family room that opens onto a pavered courtyard with a fountain.

The master suite includes a private retreat, his and hers closets and a private balcony. In all, the residence counts six bedrooms and 4.5 baths in 4,878 square feet of living space.

The grounds include mature trees, a covered patio and a barbecue area. Adjacent to the fountain is an outdoor fireplace and sitting area.

Sele, 44, played 15 seasons for six teams including the Red Sox, Rangers, Angels and Dodgers, making two All-Star teams (1998, 2000). He joined the Dodgers as a minor league pitching instructor in 2008.

Records show that Sele paid $3.525 million for the home in February 2008. Ron Millar of HOM Sotheby’s International Realty is the listing agent.
