As Clayton Kershaw was pitching his way to a third Cy Young Award and his first National League MVP honor this season, the Dodgers star was also handling business away from the diamond, buying a new home in Studio City for $4 million.

The East Coast Traditional-style home, on more than half an acre in the Colfax Meadows neighborhood, has about 6,000 square feet of living space with five bedrooms and 5.5 bathrooms.

Designed for entertaining and casual indoor-outdoor living, the home sports large formal living spaces, a chef’s kitchen, an office, a wine cellar and a media room. Bi-folding doors open onto landscaped grounds containing a covered patio, a casita with a fireplace and outdoor dining area, and a saltwater pool.

The 26-year-old pitcher led the league with a 1.77 ERA and 21 wins across 198 1/3 frames this season. In January, he and the Dodgers agreed to a seven-year extension worth $215 million.

Sale of the property, first reported by Variety, closed in late July, public records show. The home originally came to market in June with an asking price of $4.295 million.

Gail Steinberg and Ingrid Sacerio of Dilbeck Realtors co-listed the property, according to the Multiple Listing Service.

In addition to his Studio City home, Kershaw maintains a residence in Dallas and a vacation home in Frenandina Beach, Fla., which he purchased in January.
