If DeMar DeRozan needs a spot to hang his gold medal from the Basketball World Cup, the USA Basketball star has plenty of options to choose from. The former USC Trojans player and Toronto Raptors wing recently purchased a large estate in Tarzana for slightly over $3.75 million.

The home, built in Mediterranean-style in 1995, occupies more than an acre in the gated Mulholland Park area with a pool, expansive lawns and a full basketball sports court. Entered through a grand foyer with a sweeping double staircase, the floor plan features detailed molding, distressed hardwood and a range of ceiling treatments.

The 6,609 square feet of living space contains a chef’s kitchen, a formal dining room, a double-height living room, an office, seven bedrooms and eight bathrooms. Among highlights is the master retreat complete with a sitting area, his and hers closets, a soaking tub and steam shower.

Set behind tall hedges, the park-like grounds include a covered dining area, loggia and an outdoor fireplace. The raised pool area has a separate patio, a spa and a water slide.

DeRozan, 25, starred at Compton High School and later played one season at the University of Southern California before turning pro in 2009. He averaged 22.7 points in 79 games for Toronto last season, making his first NBA All-Star team as a reserve.

The property originally came to market in June asking $3.799 million, records show. Brian Pane of Wish Sotheby’s International Realty was the listing agent. Theana Vasdekis of Capital Investment Realty Group represented DeRozan in the sale, which closed in late August.

In addition to his new Tarzana home, DeRozan maintains residences in Crenshaw and Las Vegas.
