Onetime Marlon Brando haunt lists in Hollywood Hills West

A 1926 Spanish Revival residence that was once home to leading man Marlon Brando is on the market at $3.495 million.

Set above Sunset Strip in Hollywood Hills West, the unusual castle-like house features a step-down living room with vaulted ceilings, curved hallways and staircases, floor-to-ceiling windows and wrought-iron railings.

Within the 4,363 square feet of living space are a den, a family room, a rounded art studio, a wine cellar, three bedrooms and four bathrooms. A limestone fireplace creates a focal point for the step-down living room, which has walls of glass. The formal dining room has views of the garden while other rooms take in city vistas.

Brando, who died in 2004 at 80, won Oscars for his work in “The Godfather” (1972) and “On the Waterfront” (1954). Among his other memorable films were “Apocalypse Now” (1979), “Last Tango in Paris” (1972) and “A Streetcar Named Desire” (1951).

The property sold last year for $5.8 million.
