Local baseball product and Minnesota Twins outfielder Jason Kubel has sold his home in a gated Calabasas community for $2.8 million.

Found a stone’s throw away from Selena Gomez’s former home, the Tuscan-inspired estate features a slew of sports-centric amenities. A resort-style swimming pool, a putting green, a playground with a sunken trampoline and a fenced batting cage, complete with a pitching machine, reside on the acre-plus grounds.

The 5,686-square-foot home features a rotunda entry that opens to large formal spaces, an atrium and a cook’s kitchen with two islands. There’s also a home theater and a separate guest house for a total of five bedrooms and five bathrooms.

Outdoors, the backyard setting is filled with lawns, patios, a fire pit and a cabana with a built-in barbecue. A four-car garage and motor court sit off the entrance to the property.

Michael Preis of RE/MAX Olson & Associates was the listing agent. Howard Zuckerman of Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices represented the buyer.

Kubel, 34, has ties to Southern California, having starred at Highland High in Palmdale. The outfielder and first baseman was drafted out of high school by Minnesota in 2000 and played 10 seasons for the Twins, Arizona Diamondbacks and Cleveland Indians.

He bought the house six years ago for $1.945 million, property records show.
