Grammy winner Pharrell Williams hangs his hat in Hollywood Hills

Singer-songwriter-producer Pharrell Williams has joined the throng of celebrity buyers in Hollywood Hills West with the purchase of a contemporary compound for $7.14 million.

The striking concrete-and-glass house was designed by architect Hagy Belzberg, known for his sleek homes and work on such projects as the Los Angeles Museum of the Holocaust. Called the Skyline Residence, the structure is a singular home for a singular musician.

Pharrell, as he is known, is an 11-time Grammy Award winner. Among his monster hits was the single “Happy” from the animated movie “Despicable Me 2.”

Set on 1.5 acres on a narrow ridgeline, the main house brings in views of Laurel Canyon and downtown L.A. Living and dining rooms, a breakfast area and maid’s quarters are among the living spaces.

Including the detached guesthouse there are seven bedrooms, five full bathrooms and two powder rooms. Tax records show 4,415 square feet of interior space -- plenty of room for the hat-wearing musician to stash his lids.

Outdoor amenities include a theater and an infinity pool.

The property previously sold in 2009 for $5.6 million and came on the market in January for $8.995 million. Hat tip goes to Variety for uncovering the purchase.
