After their home near Alpharetta, Ga., bounced on and off the market for the better part of six years, Hall of Fame baseball pitcher Tom Glavine and his wife, Christine, have found a buyer.

The 10,222-square-foot residence, once listed for as much as $3.75 million, sold for $1.7 million.

The Georgian-style home, on nearly two acres in the Country Club of the South community, is entered through a two-story foyer with a sweeping dual staircase. The floor plan includes a formal dining room, a wood-paneled study, two kitchens, seven bedrooms and 10 bathrooms across three stories.

On the main floor, the master retreat sports a sitting area, an oversized shower and a soaking tub. A billiards room, an indoor putting green, a wet bar and a wine cellar are among the features on the finished terrace level.

The landscaped grounds are centered on a pool and patio area. Community amenities include a Jack Nicklaus-designed golf course, tennis courts and a 54,000-square-foot clubhouse.

Glavine, 48, notched 10 All-Star appearances, two Cy Young Awards and a World Series title across 22 seasons with the Braves and Mets. He was inducted into the National Baseball Hall of Fame alongside Frank Thomas and former teammate Greg Maddux earlier this year.

The property returned to the market in June with an asking price of $1.995 million, property records show. Stephanie Lewis of Atlanta Fine Homes Sotheby’s International Realty listed the home on behalf of the Glavines. David Horgan of Coldwell Banker Residential represented the buyers.
