Just outside the employee lounge sits the iconic binocular sculpture created by Claes Oldenburg and Coosje van Bruggen.
The Binoculars Building was actually created around 1985 for the ad agency Chiat/Day (now TBWA/Chiat/Day). The architect was Frank Gehry, the same guy who designed the Disney Concert Hall. After Chiat/Day moved out, the building was occupied by various companies, including some other ad agencies. This slide show makes it seem like the building was created for Google, which it was not.
