Emmy-winning visual effects creator Syd Dutton and his wife, Laura, have listed their Sunset Strip-area home at $1.68 million.

Double doors open to a courtyard with a tiled goldfish pool and a Buddha statue, sited according to feng shui practices. The contemporary home was built in 1964. Inside, the open plan living room connects with the den and updated kitchen. There are three bedrooms, three bathrooms and 2,460 square feet of living space. The nearly one-third acre lot includes a swimming pool and fruit trees.

Syd Dutton, 65, shares visual effects Emmys for “A.D.” (1985) and “Star Trek: The Next Generation” (1987-94). More recently he served as visual effects supervisor on the Michael Mann film “Public Enemies” (2009) and worked on “The Bucket List” (2007).

The Duttons purchased the house in 1997 for $520,000, according to public records.

Lyn Bradford of Prudential California Realty’s Pacific Design Center office has the listing.
