Share

A 13,500-square-foot estate built on spec in the hills of Tarzana is going to auction. The bank-owned mansion had been priced at $9,775,000 and cost more than $7.5 million to build.

The Tuscan-inspired house, designed for entertaining and constructed in 2008, has seven bedrooms and 11 bathrooms. Overlooking the San Fernando Valley, it sits on 1 1/2 acres of park-like grounds including a tennis court, koi pond with waterfall and covered verandas and patios.

The subterranean garage fits 16 cars. The spa tub in the master bathroom has room for 10 adults. There are two kitchens, three wet bars and five fireplaces.

The lender will auction the property Dec. 5 at a minimum starting bid of $2.1 million -- about 21.5% of the original asking price.
