Earthquake: Magnitude 3.0 quake strikes near The Geysers, Calif.

A shallow magnitude 3.0 earthquake was reported Wednesday morning one mile from The Geysers in Northern California’s Mayacmas Mountains, according to the U.S. Geological Survey. The temblor occurred at 8:54 a.m. Pacific time at a depth of 1.2 miles.

According to the USGS, the epicenter was 13 miles from Clearlake, Calif., 14 miles from Healdsburg, 17 miles from Windsor and 69 miles from Sacramento.

In the past 10 days, there has been one earthquake of magnitude 3.0 or greater centered nearby.
