Numerous flights at Los Angeles International Airport have either been delayed or canceled because of extreme weather conditions in the Northeast, officials said Sunday.

Three arriving flights have been delayed and 15 canceled because of snowstorms in Boston, Washington, D.C., and New York, said Katherine Alvarado, a spokeswoman with Los Angeles International Airport. Three departing flights were also delayed.

Passengers were notified of cancellations by text.

Some of the airlines affected include United, US Airways, Alaska Airlines, Jet Blue, Qantas, China Air and Hawaiian Airlines. Airports affected are Boston’s Logan International Airport, John F. Kennedy International Airport in New York and Reagan National Airport in Washington.
