A missing woman who was kidnapped was able to call police for help Monday night while she was bound in the trunk of an abandoned SUV, authorities said.

It wasn’t immediately clear how the woman made the call from inside the Infiniti, which was left abandoned on the Dudley Street off-ramp of the 10 Freeway in Pomona, KTLA reported.

The woman told police dispatchers that two men had tied her up and planned to take her to Colorado.

A family member had recently reported her missing at the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s station in East Los Angeles, Sgt. John Sagardia said.

Soon after, detectives discovered the woman’s call, handled by the California Highway Patrol, was connected to the missing persons case they had been investigating.

The woman told investigators she was threatened and kidnapped, he said.

No suspect description was available, but Sagardia said detectives are looking into whether she knew the abductors.
