A string of weekend shootings in South Los Angeles and Carson left four men dead and at least four others injured, authorities said Sunday.

The first shooting occurred around 10:30 a.m. Saturday near the corner of 76th and Main streets, said Los Angeles Police Officer Mike Lopez. Shots were fired in an alley, he said, and when officers arrived, they found two men dead at the scene.

A black truck and white SUV were seen leaving the area, Lopez said. It was not clear if the shooting was gang-related.

The second shooting occurred about eight hours later and about three miles away, in the 1700 block of West 58th Street, Lopez said.

Suspects drove by the location in a white vehicle and opened fire on three men, striking and killing one and injuring the other two, he said.

The second shooting appears to be gang-related, Lopez said.

Fifteen miles south in Carson, a third shooting broke out around 11:30 p.m., Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department officials said.

Deputies responded to the 100 block of West Victoria Street regarding a call about an assault with a deadly weapon. As many as 100 people were at the location for a party when the shooting occurred, authorities said.

When deputies arrived, they found three men suffering from gunshot wounds. All three victims were transported to a local hospital, where one of the men died, the department said.

Investigators have not recovered any weapons, and it is not clear if the shooting was gang-related, authorities said. Officials also said they had no descriptions of suspects as of Sunday afternoon.
