Opinion: Trump isn’t the only one to discriminate against women who supposedly aren’t pretty enough

To the editor: The new allegations of age and appearance discrimination at Trump’s golf course in Rancho Palos Verdes — your article quoted an employee saying Trump said the restaurant hostesses were “not pretty enough” — should surprise no one about the presidential nominee’s disdain for women who don’t match his beauty requirements.

( “Trump wanted less-attractive women fired, employees say,” Sept. 29)

But he also has treated men the same way, for example, calling a long-time Scottish farmer a “pig” and bullying others who wouldn’t sell their land to Trump for a golf course there.

To the editor: We should all thank Donald Trump for exposing our society’s rampant but rarely mentioned epidemic of misogyny. But guess what, guys: Lots of women judge men based on their looks, but we never utter these opinions aloud. It has been drilled into us since girlhood that your fragile male egos must be protected.

Thanks again Donald, on two counts: American men might start recognizing your infantile behavior in themselves and learn to rise above it. And a majority of voters will agree that you are the last person we want as president, and vote accordingly.

To the editor: Good thing you are not running a business. We would have nothing but homely girls serving the public.
