“They have both been the foundation of this program,” said Poly Coach Sharrief Metoyer. “They both stepped up tonight with great individual performances.”

Fields scored 10 points in the third quarter, when Poly outscored the No. 4 Dons, 21-9, to take a 47-32 lead. Lewis scored 11 points in the fourth quarter to help hold off Dominguez, which outscored the Jackrabbits, 17-4, in the first four minutes of the fourth quarter to pull within two points at 51-49. The Dons started 6-8 swingman LaMar Roberson, a transfer from Baton Rouge, La. who was cleared to play by the Southern Section after previously being declared ineligible. The Dons still must forfeit a victory over Southwest Atlanta Christian in which Roberson previously played. Roberson, however, was not much of a factor, scoring five points and grabbing four rebounds.
