Scott Swanson scored three of his four goals in the first half, making penalty shots in each half, and the Bruins held Foothill scoreless for more than 12 1/2 minutes to win the championship game of the S&R Sport Cup.

After Foothill scored two minutes into the game, Wilson (14-1) took control of the game by holding the Knights scoreless until halfway through the third period in opening up a 7-1 lead. Chay Lapin had 11 saves for Wilson.

Newport Harbor 8, Servite 7
Clay Jorth scored in a man-up situation with just over a minute to play to lift Newport Harbor (7-6) to victory over Servite (5-10) at Heritage Park in Irvine.

Jorth finished with two goals for the Sailors, which held off Servite in the closing seconds when the Friars’ Daniel Garcia was called for a foul, turning the ball over to Newport Harbor on their last possession.

Rory Bevins and Alex Mule each had two goals to lead Servite.

Julien Lormant had seven goals, seven steals and one assists for Santa Margarita (10-8) at Irvine University (5-10).Lormant notched four goals in the second quarter,when the Eagles stretched a first-quarter 2-1 edge to a 6-2 halftime advantage. Santa Margarita also had four goals in the third quarter and took a 10-3 lead going into the fourth period.Lormant, who has 52 goals this season, got offensive help from Alex Rogers and Mark Connor. Rogers finished with two goals and Connor had one goal, four steals and two assists.

Dylan Zmed scored twice to lead visiting Calabasas, which improved to 10-3 overall and 2-1 in league with the victory at Westlake. Daniel Smith led host Thousand Oaks (9-9, 2-2) with two goals.

PREP LEAGUE

Webb 13, La Salle 12
Chris Erlinger scored all three goals for Webb in the second 3-minute overtime period and the Gauls (6-6, 1-2) overcame two overtime goals by La Salle to win the game at Pasadena High.

Erlinger, who finished with eight goals, rallied the Gauls after the teams were tied, 10-10, at the end of regulation and La Salle had taken a 12-10 lead with a pair of goals in the first overtime.

Chris Stellar had three goals to lead La Salle, including one of the Lancers’ overtime goals.

Bonita 11, Yucaipa 9
Brett Hayes scored six goals to lead Bonita (9-4). Yucaipa is 12-5.

Poly (14-2) opened up an 11-1 lead after one quarter in the league opener for both teams.

Eric Vreeland had 10 goals and four assists, Justin Rappel added four goals and four assists, and goalie Jay Connelly had 17 saves to lead Harvard-Westlake (9-1, 3-0). Vreeland has recorded 21 goals in his last two games for the Wolverines.

Thomas Jacobson had three goals and two assists and Trent Gilmore added two goals and two assists for Long Beach Millikan (7-3, 1-0) at Long Beach Jordan (0-1 in league).

Austin Cooper had seven goals and Brett Forman had four for Downey (13-3, 1-0). Jarret Powers had 10 saves for Downey in an emergency start when usual starter Alan Nevarez had to miss the game because of illness. Whitney falls to 3-3.

David Johnson scored four goals and Bryson Beardsley scored three for Mission Viejo (10-6, 1-0), ranked No. 8 in southern Section Division I. Capistrano Valley falls to 4-10, 0-1.

Brian Russell had four goals, two steals and one assist and Brandon Choi, Michael McDonnell and Ben Naecker each had two goals for Flintridge Prep (9-8) over visiting Pasadena (7-13).

Trent Johnson scored five goals and James Chang added three goals to lead Sonora in a league opener for both teams. Brice Stowell and Micah Klausman each had two goals for La Habra.

MARMONTE LEAGUE

Royal 14, Agoura 9
Goalie Matt Lewis blocked a four-meter shot and had 13 saves and Tyler Diamond had six goals and two assists to lead visiting Royal (13-5, 3-0), which is ranked No. 2 in Division IV.

Agoura, which is ranked No. 5 in the Division IV coaches’ poll, drops to 2-1 in league.

Westlake 5, Newbury Park 4
The Warriors were led by their defense, which had 14 steals in the game and did not allow a goal in the fourth quarter, in another important Marmonte League game.

Goalie Ryan Dutton had 13 saves, one assist and five steals, Cole Olman had two goals and twin brothers John and Nick Weaver each scored for host Westlake (5-4, 2-2), which is ranked No. 10 in the Division IV coaches’ poll.

Goalie Justin Schwaiger had 16 saves and scored a goal from his cage as time expired in the first half for Newbury Park (7-8, 1-3), which is ranked No. 8 in Division IV. Billy Doherty, Logan Walker and Kyle Ripley also scored for the Panthers.

PACIFIC LEAGUE

Arcadia 16, Muir 10
Brad Phillipi and Hagop Seropian each scored four goals for Arcadia (8-9, 2-0). Muir (6-6, 1-1) was led by Steve Garcia’s five goals.

PACIFIC COAST LEAGUE

Tesoro 13, Irvine Universtiy 10
The Titans (7-4, 1-0) have played varsity water polo in the Pacific Coast league for three years and on the strength of Zachary White’s six goals and Sean Colton’s four goals, Tesoro finally got its first league victory.

University (0-1 in league) trailed by six at halftime and were unable to get closer than a two-goal defecit throughout the second half.

SEA VIEW LEAGUE

Foothill 9, Newport Harbor 8
Senior Damjan Dudic had four goals and four steals and junior goalie Alex Lawrence had six saves in an important Sea View opener for Foothill (8-3, 1-0), which led the entire game. Foothill, ranked No. 3 in the Division I coaches’ poll, took advantage of the Sailors zone defense for several goals.

Newport Harbor (8-3, 0-1), ranked No. 2 in Division I, scored four goals during man-up situations.

NONLEAGUE

Burbank 15, South Pasadena 5
Vince Gil had eight goals and four steals and Hunter Pitkin had 10 saves in goal for visiting Burbank (13-4).

La Canada 16, Servite 15
With the score tied at 15 with 1:30 left in the game, Jordan Thompson scored on a back-hand, two-meter shot to give La Canada the victory at Servite.

Thompson would finish with a game-high eight goals for the Spartans (15-5). Rory Bevins had five goals and caused five ejections for Servite (4-7), which led 8-7 at the half.

La Canada is ranked No. 3 in the Division III coaches’ poll and Servite is ranked No. 3 in Division II.

Montebello 15, Bonita 8
Chris Flores has seven goals to lead Montebello (12-2), the defending Division III champion. Montebello, ranked No. 1 in their division by CIF, trailed 5-3 at the half but outscored host Bonita (8-4), 12-3 in the second half.

Bonita, also the defending division champions and ranked No. 1 in the Div. VI coaches’ poll, was led by Ryan Allred with three goals.

Oxnard 11, Thousand Oaks 5
Eric Grosshan had five goals, Andrew Perez added three and Mason Miller had 15 saves for host Oxnard (11-1), ranked No. 7 in Division IV. Ryan Vick had three goals and Danny Glover had 11 saves for Thousand Oaks (9-8), tied at No. 8 in Division IV.

St. John Bosco 11, Hacienda Heights Wilson 10
Matt Olvera had seven goals, with six coming in the second half, Andy Domngren had two goals and Scott Bender and Hugo Mendez each had a goal for visiting St. John Bosco (3-7). The Braves led 11-8 over Wilson with two minutes to go and held on for the win.

Sophomore Cory Baccus scored eight goals, giving him 42 this season and senior Bruce Sanger scored seven for Whittier (7-3, 1-0). El Rancho 2-6, 0-1.

Bobby Mack had five goals and two steals and Casey Dunbar added three goals, two assists and two steals for Placentia Valencia (5-5, 1-0) in a victory at Cypress (0-1 league).

Cory Busby had six goals and Adam Torrey had four goals for Garden Grove (5-4, 1-0) at Bolsa Grande (0-1 league).

Adam Douglas had five goals and five steals, Kyle Thorsness had four third-quarter goals to go with three steals to lead Costa Mesa (8-2, 3-0) to a key Golden West League victory over visiting Saddleback, the two-time defending league champion.

Anthony Adamowicz added a goal and two steals for the Mustangs, who overcame a 7-5 halftime deficit.

Eric Vreeland had 11 goals and two assists for the host Wolverines (8-1, 2-0), ranked No. 4 in the Southern Section Division I coaches’ poll. Crespi falls to 2-0 in league.

Senior Alex Edmunds had five goals, including the go-ahead goal with 2:28 remaining in the fourth quarter, for host Loyola (6-3, 1-0). Alemany is 0-2 in league.

Doug McNeese had eight goals and Jordan Thompson seven for La Canada.

SOUTH COAST LEAGUE

Mission Viejo 11, Tesoro 2
Ryan Pellerin made 14 saves for Mission Viejo, which is 9-6 overall. Mission was led in scoring by Stephen Blount’s three goals, while Bryson Beardsley, Aaron Lefevre and Tucker Muse each scored two apiece.

Spencer White and Matt Runnels scored for Tesoro, which is 6-4.

Jack Hines had four goals and Colin Tewksbury and Lance Haver each had three goals for Riverside Poly (13-2) in a match between Southern Section Division V title contenders.

Cory Baccus scored six goals and Bruce Sanger added four to improve host Whittier’s record to 6-3. Peninsula falls to 3-10. Baccus, a sophomore, has 34 goals on the year to lead Cardinals.
