Galvis wants protective netting extended

Infielder Freddy Galvis of the Philadelphia Phillies wants more protective netting at stadiums.

Galvis was upset after hitting a foul ball Saturday at Citizens Bank Park, home of the Phillies, that struck a young girl in the face.

An update on the child’s condition was not available late Sunday.

The club extended the netting about 10 feet this season to the side of each dugout near the plate, but Galvis believes more protection is needed.
