Mason Plumlee lands in kids’ laps during DeAndre Jordan scuffle, but makes it up to them after the game

Courtside seats at an NBA game can be pretty awesome, especially for young fans.

But as two boys learned in Portland, Ore., on Thursday night, there can be some risk involved.

Things got pretty testy between the Trail Blazers’ Mason Plumlee and the Clippers’ DeAndre Jordan during the season opener for both teams, and two young basketball enthusiasts got caught in the middle.

Jordan and Plumlee were going after the ball following a missed shot by the Trail Blazers’ Damian Lillard, when the Clippers’ big man appeared to give his Portland counterpart an extra shove going out of bounds.

Plumlee landed in the lap of one of the boys and very close to the other. He tried to pull himself up using Jordan’s shorts, but the All-Star center smacked his hand away.

“I was sitting on a little kid, was trying to get off him,” Plumlee said after the game. “I don’t remember, I just know [Jordan] slapped my hand. There’s always something extra after the play, so I just got tired of it.”

The scuffle continued once Plumee was back on his feet, leaving one of the boys in particular looking rather traumatized by the ordeal.

But both boys appeared to be all smiles after the game, when they got to meet up with Plumlee. As you can see, he was much less scary then.
