The Dodgers got their man, which they tend to do these days.

They announced during their game Tuesday against the Rockies that they had come to terms with first-round draft pick Grant Holmes, a right-handed pitcher from Conway High School in South Carolina.

The Dodgers have signed every first-round pick since 2005, when they failed to sign pitcher Luke Hochevar.

Holmes received more than $2.4 million for signing, according to a person familiar with the situation but not authorized to speak publicly.

Holmes, who is 6 feet 1 and 215 pounds, was the South Carolina Gatorade Player of the Year. He struck out 82 in 40 innings his senior season.

He was selected by the Dodgers with the 22nd overall pick.
