Dodgers 4, Arizona Diamondbacks 3: Brett Anderson’s timely performance

ON THE MOUND: The Dodgers’ bullpen had been taxed in the first two games of the series, so Brett Anderson’s performance Wednesday was timely. He lasted seven innings and struck out seven batters. Kendrick drove in two runs and the Dodgers improved to 22-2 when he records an RBI. Third baseman Justin Turner also doubled to cap a three-run third inning by driving in Kendrick.

CRAWFORD HIT: In his second rehabilitation start with Class-A Rancho Cucamonga, Carl Crawford exited after being hit by a pitch on his ankle. A media relations staffer for the team said Crawford was seen walking with a limp. The outfielder has missed more than two months with a torn muscle in his side.

EXTRA BASES: Brandon Beachy made his fourth rehabilitation start with triple-A Oklahoma City on Wednesday. He lasted five innings and allowed six hits, one run and three walks with one strikeout. … Four Oklahoma City team members were named to the Pacific Coast League All-Star team. Catcher Austin Barnes and second baseman Darnell Sweeney were named starters, and reliever Ryan Butcher and shortstop Corey Seager were named reserves.
