A look at the top events at the Rio Olympics on Friday:

Track and field

This will be your last chance to see the magnificent Usain Bolt. After winning the 100 and 200 he will be part of the 400 relay for Jamaica. Like the 100 and 200, he is hoping to win the relay for the third consecutive Olympics. The women’s 400 also goes Friday. The U.S. team got a reprieve after dropping a handoff in qualifying. It was ruled that a collision caused it and they were allowed to run again and made the qualifying time. Also, American pole vaulter Jenn Suhr hopes to defend her Olympic title.

The U.S. men’s team has come perilously close to losing some games against some not-so-great opponents. Now in the semifinals it gets a real challenge from Spain. The U.S. has beaten Spain for the gold the last two Olympics. Carmelo Anthony has been the clutch three-point shooter in a couple of the games and the U.S. will need him to come through if the game gets close. Australia plays Serbia in the other semifinal.

Water polo

The U.S. women’s team hopes to become the first country to successfully defend its gold medal when it plays against Italy. It won’t be easy. Both teams are 5-0 in the tournament. The U.S. beat Hungary, 14-10, in the semifinals and Italy defeated Russia, 12-9.
