Watch Russell Wilson try out for the U.S. men’s soccer team
Russell Wilson, a two-sport athlete in college (football and baseball), isn’t shy about tackling new sports, and Thursday was no exception. After the U.S. men’s soccer team beat Ecuador, 2-1, in the Copa America Centenario, the Seattle Seahawks quarterback gave soccer a try.
Wilson shared a video on Instagram of his attempt at making a goal. He considered it his audition for the U.S. men’s soccer team.
“America, this one is for you,” he said before making the goal.
The U.S. soccer team also visited with the Seahawks on Tuesday during minicamp. Midfielder Jermaine Jones and Wilson exchanged jerseys.
Is there any room for Wilson on the U.S. roster?
