San Francisco 49ers fullback Bruce Miller was arrested Thursday on suspicion of misdemeanor spousal battery, according to Santa Clara police.

Lt. Kurt Clark, spokesman for the Santa Clara Police Department, said Miller, 27, was arrested before midnight. Clark said he could not comment further because the case has been filed with the Santa Clara County district attorney’s office.

Attempts to contact the district attorney’s office were unsuccessful.

“The San Francisco 49ers organization is aware of the matter involving Bruce Miller,” the team said in a statement. “We were disappointed to learn of these reports and will do our due diligence in collecting all relevant information.”
