Dwyane Wade agrees to two-year deal with Heat

Dwyane Wade isn’t going anywhere.

LeBron James is on his way back to Cleveland, but Wade will remain with the Miami Heat after agreeing Tuesday to a new two-year contract with a player option on the second year, according to multiple news reports.

Chris Bosh -- who joined Wade and James to make up the Heat’s “Big 3” the last four seasons -- is also staying in Miami, having agreed to a five-year, $118-million deal last week.

Wade’s salary next season will likely be less than the $20.2 million he would have made before opting out of his previous contract earlier this summer. But he will remain with the only team he has played for in 11 pro seasons -- one that he has helped win three NBA titles.

“Home Is Where The Heart Is... My Home,My City,My House..#HeatLifer,” Wade wrote Tuesday to accompany an Instagram photo of himself standing under the Heat’s championship banners from 2006, ’12 and ’13.

Wade is the Heat’s all-time leader in games, points, assists and steals. He averaged 19 points and shot a career-best 54.5% last year, although he played just 54 games, in large part to preserve his knees.

He likely won’t have that luxury anymore with James gone.
