The Houston Texans have one of the biggest defensive stars in the NFL, a former No. 1 overall draft pick still looking to justify that status, an aging running back hoping his 2014 comeback was no fluke, and a possible quarterback controversy.

Sounds like the makings of a pretty good TV show.

At least that’s what the folks at HBO must be thinking. Coach Bill O’Brien’s Texans have been chosen for the 2015 edition of the popular reality TV show that follows an NFL team through training camp.

The official announcement came Wednesday afternoon.

The Texans might not seem like the most glamorous pick for such a platform. But the team could end up offering some pretty compelling storylines, such as:

-- 2014 defensive player of the year and all-around beast J.J. Watt, whose presence alone offers some star power;

-- 2014 No. 1 overall draft pick Jadeveon Clowney, whose rookie season barely got off the ground due to multiple surgeries on his knee;

-- 2010 rushing champ and four-time Pro Bowler Arian Foster, who returned to form last season after being hampered by a back injury in 2013;

-- Ryan Mallett vs. Brian Hoyer, two former Tom Brady backups out to win the starting quarterback spot;

-- And, of course, there’s the foul-mouthed O’Brien, who ought to make for some good television.
