Jameis Winston signs with Buccaneers for reported $25-million guaranteed
Less than 24 hours after his name was announced as the first pick in the NFL draft, Jameis Winston has signed with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, the team announced Friday afternoon.
While no details of the deal were released, multiple media reports say it’s fully guaranteed for four years and $25.35 million with a $16.7-million signing bonus.
The Buccaneers tweeted a photo of Winston signing his contract with General Manager Jason Licht early Friday afternoon.
The pair had just enough time to snap a selfie, also tweeted by the team, before the 2013 Heisman Trophy winner’s introductory news conference.
And just as the Buccaneers wasted no time in signing their top pick, they also were quick to tweet a link for fans to purchase a No. 3 Winston Buccaneers jersey.
