Texas coach Tom Herman celebrates during bowl game by mocking opposing quarterback’s touchdown dance
In his first year as the head coach at Texas, Tom Herman led the Longhorns to their first winning season since 2013, one that culminated in a 33-16 victory over Missouri in the Texas Bowl in Houston on Wednesday night.
The win gave Texas a final record of 7-6 and pushed Herman’s mark as a head coach to 29-10, counting his two seasons with Houston. The 42-year-old Herman appeared to celebrate on the sideline Wednesday night by mocking the touchdown dance of an opposing player half his age.
Missouri quarterback Drew Lock likes to celebrate touchdowns with a dance known as “secure the bag.” He did it against the Longhorns after connecting with Johnathon Johnson for a 79-yard touchdown.

Later, after a touchdown put the Longhorns up by 17 with 1:39 remaining in the game, Herman and multiple Texas players appeared to mock Lock and his celebration with their own version of the dance. It looked like this:
Missouri players were seen giving a mocking version of Texas’ “hook ‘em, Horns” hand signal before the game.
Lock said after the game he was cool with Herman’s version of his signature dance move.
“You can look at it like [Texas] is a pretty big program. And when the head coach is mocking your dance move you must be doing something right,” the 21-year-old quarterback said. “You’re not a nobody. You’re definitely doing something that’s catching other people’s attention.”
