USC’s 2016 recruiting class among the top 10 nationally

Five months remain until signing day, but USC is on its way to signing a top-rated recruiting class for a second consecutive year.

USC’s 2016 class, with 16 players committed, ranks among the top-10 classes in the country according to recruiting sites Rivals, Scout and 247Sports.

Ohio State has the consensus top class with 19 players committed.

Each site ranks USC first in the Pac-12 Conference, followed by either Stanford or UCLA.

USC started the 2016 recruiting cycle with 25 scholarships, but only five remain if each player remains committed.

Four scholarships that count toward 2016 were awarded to blue-shirt recruits Deontay Burnett, Clayton Johnston, Daniel Imatorbhebhe and Taylor McNamara, who are on the roster this season.

Imatorbhebhe, a transfer from Florida, will not be eligible to play until 2016.
