Breaking down USC’s 45-42 victory over Nebraska in Holiday Bowl

USC defeated Nebraska, 45-42, in the Holiday Bowl on Saturday at Qualcomm Stadium.

The Trojans finished the season 9-4 overall and 6-3 in the Pac-12 Conference.

Nebraska finished at 9-4 overall and 5-3 in the Big Ten.

The game came down to the final play as quarterback Tommy Armstrong threw a Hail Mary toward the end zone. The pass was knocked down by Trojans receiver Nelson Agholor as time expired.

Quarterback Cody Kessler completed 23 of 39 passes for 321 yards and three touchdowns, with an interception.

Eight receivers caught a pass, including Adoree’ Jackson’s 71-yard catch-and-run touchdown.

Jackson also returned a kickoff 98 yards for a score.
