Former USC cornerback Daylon McCutcheon joins New York Jets staff

Daylon McCutcheon played for USC from 1995 to 1998, including in the 1996 Rose Bowl against Northwestern, and was selected by the Cleveland Browns in the third round of the 1999 NFL draft.

Former USC and NFL cornerback Daylon McCutcheon has joined the New York Jets’ coaching staff.

New Jets Coach Todd Bowles hired McCutcheon as a defensive backs assistant.

McCutcheon played at USC from 1995 to 1998 and was selected by the Cleveland Browns in the third round of the 1999 draft.

He was an NFL starter for seven seasons, and Bowles was his position coach with the Browns from 2001 to 2004.

McCutcheon worked for the Jets as a training camp intern in 2013 and last season for the Arizona Cardinals, for whom Bowles served as defensive coordinator.

McCutcheon is the son of former Los Angeles Rams running back Lawrence McCutcheon. He is also the uncle of USC tailback Tre Madden.
