USC concludes developmental practices, turns attention to Nebraska
After concluding the second segment of pre-bowl practices on Sunday, USC will take a few days off before turning its attention to Nebraska.
The Trojans play the Cornhuskers in the Dec. 27 Holiday Bowl at Qualcomm Stadium in San Diego.
USC practiced six times since its season-ending 49-14 victory over Notre Dame, with much of the focus on developing younger players.
Backup quarterback Max Browne and freshman Jalen Greene took multiple reps, and other freshmen also got increased opportunities to showcase their skills.
Redshirt freshman Chris Hawkins, who started four games at cornerback, worked at safety during the practices and could be moved to the spot in spring practice.
Junior defensive tackle Antwaun Woods, who suffered a chest muscle injury on Saturday, did not practice and was scheduled to undergo a test Sunday, Coach Steve Sarkisian said.
Freshman linebacker Uchenna Nwosu, who suffered a right ankle injury on Saturday, was on crutches.
