Baseball: Former Birmingham pitcher Edgar Olmos picked up by Mariners
Edgar Olmos, a 24-year-old former Birmingham High pitcher, has been added to the 40-man roster of the Seattle Mariners after being claimed off waivers from the Miami Marlins.
The left-handed reliever spent last year in Double-A and Triple-A ball.
He throws in the 90s. He was a third-round draft pick out of Birmingham in 2008.
