Pick your poison: Desean Holmes or Dominic Davis. Brandon Pierce or Blake Green. Mission Hills Alemany has multiple weapons, and each was on display during Friday night’s 45-15 intersectional victory over Los Angeles Dorsey at Rancho Cienega Park in Los Angeles.

Holmes scored on a 43-yard touchdown catch, and Pierce had a 35-yarder of his own, both from Green. The senior quarterback also had a pair of 1-yard touchdown runs. Davis finished up with 215 yards rushing and two touchdowns, one on a 99-yard interception return.

“When I’m in the huddle, calling plays, looking over all of my options, it makes me think about how lucky I am to be in a position like this,” Green said. “You might be able to stop one of us, or maybe two some other times, but not everyone. We’re a dangerous team.”

Credit is given where it’s deserved, and the Dons (1-3 overall) did not back down from Alemany (4-0). They put up a good fight, in fact, despite limited practice time this past week, after the Los Angeles City Section placed restrictions on workouts due to high temperatures.

Considering the opponent, one of many difficult Southern Section foes on the nonleague schedule, the timing could not have been worse for Dorsey. One has to wonder if a normal workout regimen would have been enough to slow down Holmes, Davis, Pierce or Green.

“We were clicking on all cylinders tonight, and when that happens, I think we can play with anyone,” Davis said. “We’re a headache for other teams. We proved that tonight. A win like this, on the road, up against a tough opponent, this game will give us more confidence.”
