T.J. Brock of Chaminade, the defending state champion in the 100 meters, is getting into shape after missing much of the season resting a thigh contusion from football season. He won the 100 in 10.44 seconds and the 200 in 21.22 at the Mission League finals on Thursday at Occidental College.

The big news was made before the meet when Harvard-Westlake announced that two-time state long jump champion Courtney Corrin had ended her season because of a broken toe. Her right foot was in a walking boot. She had been experiencing pain and finally found out the toe was broken.

The Sherman Oaks 4 x 100 relay team of Trevor Reid, Tyler Asemota, Leo Lambert and Austin Lietz ran a season-best time of 41.47. It’s the first time the team has been together because of injuries.

“I think we’ll get better,” Coach Joe McNab.

Lietz won the 400 in 48.22 and also took the 300 intermediate hurdles in 38.42. Ernie Sears of Alemany went 6-8 in the high jump. Jasher Foster of St. Francis took the 110 highs in 14.54.

Notre Dame’s Sissy Farmer swept the girls’ sprints, winning the 100 in 12.06 and 200 in 24.68.
