Chef Rudi Sodamin likes to play with his food, specifically the fresh ingredients he uses in creating his dishes. Sodamin’s 2017 book, “Food Faces,” which features photographs of his unusual portraits made from vegetables, meat, fish and other foods, will be celebrated at his signature restaurants on Holland America Line cruise ships.

Diners at Rudi’s Sel de Mer will be served Mediterranean fare on limited-edition plates that feature “faces” from the book by Sodamin, who is a master chef and culinary consultant for the cruise line.

The restaurants will be rolled out across the fleet in May. The pop-up eatery is currently available on the Amsterdam, Eurodam, Nieuw Amsterdam, Oosterdam, Westerdam and Zuiderdam. Dinner costs $49 per person.

Sel de Mer also is a stand-alone restaurant on the Koningsdam and the upcoming Nieuw Statendam, which will launch in December.
