The worlds of pop singing and opera collide when the Italian trio Il Volo heads to Las Vegas on March 25, 2016. The pop opera group goes on tour to support its latest studio album, “Grande Amore,” with a stop at the Pearl at the Palms.

Il Volo’s fifth studio album debuts at the end of September, and PBS airs “Il Volo: Live from Pompeii” all August, giving fans a look at the group’s recent concert at the ruins of Pompeii, the first show performed there since Pink Floyd in 1971.

Tenors Piero Barone and Ignazio Boschetto and baritone Gianluca Ginoble released four albums so far, starting in 2011, including two studio albums, a live album and a Christmas album. Michele Torpedine, who manages tenor Andrea Bocelli, discovered the group in 2009. Il Volo translates into “the flight” in English.

Recently, Il Volo won the Big Artist award at the Sanremo Music Festival in Italy, which helped them go triple platinum in Italy with their latest EP and sell out their summer tour.

The group appeared on “The Tonight Show,” “The Today Show,” “Good Morning America,” “The Talk,” “American Idol,” “The Ellen DeGeneres Show” and “The Rachael Ray Show” as well as the final episode of HBO’s “Entourage.”

In 2012, Il Volo sang with Barbra Streisand, performed at Madison Square Garden in New York City as special guests of Italian pop singer Laura Pausini and won a Billboard Latin Music Award.

Tickets start at $43 and go on sale Friday.
