Explore Colombia, from the Andes to the coast, on cultural tour

Travel into the Andes Mountains and then onto the Caribbean coast on a tour of Colombia, one of three itineraries to the South American country being introduced by Wildland Adventures.

The 11-day excursion begins with a city and food tour of Bogotá and includes visits to the 16th century town of Villa de Leyva and the UNESCO World Heritage town of Barichara.

Other highlights include hikes through an Andean cloud forest in Iguaque National Park and the Chicamocha Gorge, considered the Grand Canyon of South America.

On the coast, participants will explore Tayrona National Park and the ruins of an ancient civilization. The tour concludes in Cartagena with a culinary walk, stopping at cafes and food stands that were favorites of author Garbriel Garcia Marquez.

Dates: April 13, May 18, June 22, July 13, Nov. 23 and Dec. 21 as well as 2019 departures. Custom dates available.

Price: From $3,150 per person, double occupancy, depending on group size.
