Bermuda: A cruise for those who want to kickbox, not kick back

Share

Here’s a cruise you might actually lose weight on: a kickboxing cruise to Bermuda on Royal Caribbean’s Liberty of the Sea this summer.

Those who don’t want to miss their daily self-defense workouts can hop aboard the CKO at Sea Kickboxing Cruise that sails Aug. 22.

CKO, which has gyms on both coasts, will hold classes every day of the five-day sailing. Guests also will be offered a nutrition class.

Anyone can come on the cruise but newcomers need to make an appointment before their first class for a beginner’s orientation, CKO Kickboxing founder Joseph Andreula says in an email.

The ship leaves from Bayonne, N.J., and stops for two nights at King’s Wharf on the western tip of Bermuda’s Ireland Island. During the port stop, guests will have 24-hour “open-gangway” access to get on and off the ship.

Prices, based on two people per stateroom, start at $950 per person for an inside cabin and $1,043 per person for an inside cabin with a view of the promenade. Balcony staterooms start at $1,355 per person.

Other things to do on board when you’re not kickboxing: go ice skating or practice your skills on a rock-climbing wall.
