In Las Vegas, Bellagio fountains now dance to a new tune: Tiesto’s

Move over, Elvis and Ol’ Blue Eyes. The Bellagio fountains are playing a new tune, thanks to the addition of some electronic dance music to the repertoire.

Oh, the playlist includes standards such as Elvis Presley’s “Viva Las Vegas” and Frank Sinatra’s “Luck Be a Lady.” But DJ and music producer Tiesto is making the attraction more appealing to youthful audiences with his just-added music straight from Las Vegas’ nightclubs.

The fountains’ mix now includes a medley of three songs from Tiesto’s “A Town Called Paradise” album, choreographed by WET Design, the Sun Valley company that created the water attraction for Bellagio’s opening 16 years ago next month.

The new songs made their debut Sept. 17.

“Las Vegas is like my second home and I’m excited to leave a permanent mark on the city I love,” Tiesto, a native of the Netherlands, said in a statement. “The Fountains of Bellagio bring my songs to life in a new and dynamic way that I can’t wait for my fans to experience.”

The fountains begin their dance at noon Saturdays, 11 a.m. Sundays and 3 p.m. Mondays-Fridays.
