In Las Vegas, a trio of places to celebrate Frank Sinatra’s centennial -- his way
Frank Sinatra sang about New York (“I want to be a part of it”) and Chicago (“My kind of town”), but he’ll also be remembered fondly in Las Vegas on what would have been his 100th birthday.
Sinatra, born Dec. 12, 1915 in Hoboken, N.J., was a fixture in Las Vegas for decades, first as a member of the famed Rat Pack and later as a solo performer.
Here are some of the places that will pay tribute to the Chairman of the Board.
1. The Golden Steer
Booth No. 22 at the Golden Steer restaurant in Las Vegas now appears much the same as it did when it was Frank Sinatra’s personal table during the 1960s. During December, diners can enjoy a special menu while seated in the booth.

At the Golden Steer, where Ol’ Blue Eyes and other Rat Packers were regulars, guests throughout December will have a chance to dine in Booth 22, the one in which Sinatra regularly held court starting in the 1960s.
For $100, diners can enjoy a three-course meal much like the one Sinatra often ordered, starting with Narragansett Bay clams on the half shell followed by a 16-ounce New York strip steak.

“He would say, ‘New York steak, cooked off the grill to medium rare,’” Mark Steele, the restaurant’s maitre d’, said.
“Frank’s Menu” concludes with Bananas Foster, flambéed tableside just as Sinatria used to enjoy them.
The meal also includes a glass of Sinatra’s favorite drink: three fingers of Jack Daniels served with two ice cubes. Guests also receive a commemorative Zippo lighter.

The restaurant just off the Strip looks pretty much the same now as it did 50 years ago, Steele said.
“The structure of the booth that he used to sit in is identical from way back in the day,” he said. “Obviously, we’ve changed the padding and the upholstery.”
To dine in Frank’s booth on the centennial of his birth, the price jumps to $1,000 for a party of four.

2. Sinatra at the Encore
Sinatra, a fine dining restaurant at Encore, will serve a special menu on Dec. 12 to honor the centennial of Frank Sinatra’s birth.

Sinatra, a restaurant at the Encore operated in partnership with Sinatra's family, wasn't around in the singer's day, but a special dinner is planned for Dec. 12 nonetheless. (How could it not be?)
The restaurant will serve a four-course meal for $195. Entrée choices include capesante (grilled diver scallops), branzino (Mediterranean sea bass) and osso buco (braised veal).

The restaurant’s specialty dessert, a chocolate mousse shaped like a fedora, will conclude the meal.
The dinner will be prepared under the watchful eye of executive chef Theo Schoenegger, who often cooked for the famed entertainer in New York City.
The package includes a copy of a commemorative book, “Sinatra 100.”

3. Franklin at the Delano

A different type of centennial souvenir, a commemorative glass, is part of the birthday celebration planned at Franklin, the lobby bar inside Delano Las Vegas.
Sinatra’s Jack-on-the-rocks ($15) will be accompanied by live music from the Rat Pack era between 7 and 10 p.m. on Dec. 12.
