California: Explore Marin County with inn-to-inn trekking

Share

Fall is an ideal time to explore some of the Bay Area’s most beautiful scenery, and Trek Inn Marin makes it easy with hikes led by local naturalists and guides.

The company’s five-night Pure Trek begins and ends in Sausalito, with hikes that include the Marin Headlands, Mt. Tamalpais, Muir Woods and Muir Beach, and the Golden Gate National Recreation Area. Seven to 10 miles are covered each day, with treks rated moderate to very difficult.

But lest you think you’re roughing it, your reward at end of each day is a comfortable stay in a local inn: the Gables Inn in Sausalito; the Mill Valley Inn in Mill Valley, the Mountain Home Inn, atop a Mt. Tam ridgeline and the Pelican Inn in Muir Beach.
