Video: San Antonio, the city, the river, the light show

In San Antonio you remember the Alamo, but you also meander the River Walk and admire the city’s many Hispanic flourishes. And if you’re lucky, you might catch the free light show on the facade of the San Fernando Cathedral in downtown’s Main Plaza.

This quick video look at the city includes several seconds of that wildly colorful, 24-minute cathedral projection -- which was created by a French artist named Xavier de Richemont -- along with glimpses of the Alamo, the river and other San Antonio scenes. The cathedral presentation has been showing since June 2014 at 9 p.m., 9:30 p.m. and 10 p.m. on Tuesdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays.

“A Minute Away” is a video series in which nothing much happens -- except you see the world, and hear it, and get a respite from workaday life. These are casual moments -- mostly just unpeopled scenery and natural sound from Machu Picchu, Red Square, the Yucatan, the Alamo, an Alaska float plane, the reading room of the New York Public Library.
