F. Murray Abraham

Lead actor 1985, "Amadeus" After his break-out role as the scheming Salieri in Milos Forman's classic Mozart biopic, one would expect an actor with the rich stage-acting chops of Abraham to capture the film world like Paul Giamatti or Dustin Hoffman did. Oddly, Abraham focused on his theatrical work post-Oscar, reserving his big screen appearances for such films as "Last Action Hero," "The Bonfire of the Vanities" and "Star Trek: Insurrection." He played a villain in each of these films, but never again to the acclaim he received for "Amadeus."
