LAUSD technology: In the Oct. 23 California section, a headline with an article about the views of new Los Angeles schools Supt. Ramon Cortines on using construction bond money to pay for technology erred in describing his stance. He did not say that such funds should not be used to pay for iPads. As the article noted, he is opposed to using the funds to pay for curriculum to be used on the student computers.

Dark money: In the Oct. 19 Section A, an article about the rise of “dark money” campaign contributors said that a 2010 Supreme Court decision cleared the way for a certain class of nonprofits, such as AARP and volunteer fire departments, to plunge into big-money politicking. The article should have noted that not all nonprofits, including AARP, did so.

Texas governor race: In the Oct. 24 Section A, an article about the race for Texas governor said that Texas Atty. Gen. Greg Abbott, the Republican nominee, opposed abortion in all instances, except when the life of a mother is in danger. Although that had been his long-standing position, Abbott now supports a Texas law that allows abortions to take place up to 20 weeks of pregnancy for any reason, his campaign said.

“Gang Talk”: In the Oct. 24 California section, the caption for a photo accompanying an article about “Gang Talk,” a radio show hosted by two anti-gang activists, reversed the order of two of the subjects of the photo. Skipp Townsend was on the left and Andre Lowdown Christian on the right.

Political spending: In the Oct. 23 Section A, an article about Gov. Jerry Brown’s relationship with unions misstated the amount of money Republican Meg Whitman spent in her 2010 campaign for governor. She spent $177 million, not $160 million.

Immigrant Magazine: An article in the Oct. 20 LATExtra section about the Immigrant Magazine website misspelled tech executive Sanjay Dalal’s first name as Sanja.
