Global drug summit: In the April 19 Section A, an article about a global drug summit quoted Yuri Fedotov, executive director of the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime, as saying the office was changing course in the war on drugs and was examining decriminalizing drug use, among other innovations. Though the U.N. is examining policy changes, that statement was based on a news release that was a hoax. Yuri Fedotov’s other comments in the article were from an email interview with The Times. The article also quoted Kevin Campo, who was identified in the false news release as a spokesman for the U.N. agency. He is not an agency spokesman.

Palm Springs hotel: In the April 9 Saturday section, an article about Arrive, a new Palm Springs boutique hotel, identified real estate executive Wade Jorgenson as a partner in the project. He is an employee.
