Alfred E. Neuman: In the Aug. 1 Calendar section, a caption accompanying a photograph of a Mad magazine cover illustration drawn by the late Jack Davis misspelled Alfred E. Neuman’s last name as Newman.

Convention TV ratings: In the July 30 Business section, an article about TV ratings for the Democratic National Convention said that in the last 14 presidential elections, the party with the higher convention ratings lost in November. That happened in seven of the last 14 presidential elections.

Herbalife: In the July 29 Business section, an article about Herbalife’s sports marketing efforts omitted the first name of Alex Savva, the former sports science manager for the L.A. Galaxy soccer team.

Search for remains: In the July 30 California section, an article about a search for human remains in Santa Ana identified Capt. William Lackey as a member of the Orange County Sheriff’s Department. He is a member of the Orange County Fire Authority.

Standard hotel: In the July 30 Business section, the Travel Briefcase column said the Standard hotel chain, which allows guests to set their own times to check in and out, operates hotels in Hollywood and downtown Los Angeles. The Standard Hollywood is in the city of West Hollywood.
