Baca trial: In the Dec. 14 California section, an article about a former deputy’s testimony in the trial of former Sheriff Lee Baca incorrectly attributed questions asked by a sheriff’s official of the witness, Gilbert Michel. The remarks in a recording played for jurors, in which the official commented that Michel was a “pawn” between the Sheriff’s Department and the FBI and asked, “Who are they trying to use to [bring down the department]?” should have been attributed to Lt. Stephen Leavins, not Sgt. Scott Craig.
