DWP: In the Jan. 4 California section, an article about Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti’s proposed “bill of rights” for Department of Water and Power customers stated that the plan needed approval by the City Council before taking effect Feb. 1. The DWP Board of Commissioners will vote on the plan, but no City Council approval is needed.

“Strange Fruit” songwriter: In the Jan. 4 Calendar section, a Quick Takes item described Abel Meeropol, who wrote the song “Strange Fruit,” as an English poet and activist. Meeropol, an American, was an English teacher, poet and activist.
