Stanley Weston: In the May 11 California section, the obituary of licensing agent Stanley Weston referred to him as the person who conceived of G.I. Joe, the action figure doll. Toy inventor Lawrence Reiner, who died in 2001, also played a role in its creation and, like Weston, was compensated for his efforts. Their families disagree on the level of each man’s involvement.

Hot Property: In the June 10 edition of Hot Property, a photograph accompanying an article about Kevin Costner’s Carpinteria estate did not show the actor’s property as the caption indicated. The property pictured was a Carpinteria residence owned by musician Mike Dirnt.
